| | 18th Annual Golf “Fore” Kids Charity Outing Supports Children in Need On June 12, 2009, Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois (LCFS) held its’ 18th Annual Golf “Fore” Kids Charity Outing at Governors Run Golf Course in Carlyle. Over 70 golfers came out to support the event and the children LCFS serves. Thanks to the generous support of our attendees and sponsors, this year’s Golf “Fore” Kids Charity Outing will serve children in Southern Illinois through programs such as adoption, foster care, counseling and Southern Thirty Adolescent Center.
LCFS’ Golf “Fore” Kids Charity Outing brought together prominent individuals and community-minded organizations from around Mt.Vernon for a great day of golf, fun and community. The success of this year’s event was due in large part to the underwriters and sponsors. Their partnership with the Golf “Fore” Kids Charity Outing allowed most of the proceeds to go directly to children’s services. For a complete list of sponsors, click here. In addition to a competitive round of golf, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy dinner and unique raffle items donated by local businesses and individual supporters. The day was highlighted by Pat Norrenbern hitting a hole-in-one on hole 12 and winning a Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and Golf Course package for 2 in Hawaii. The evening also included a few words from LCFS’ President and CEO, Gene Svebakken who spoke to the group about the important work that LCFS is doing in Southern Illinois to care for neglected children and how the attendees’ support helps to make that possible.
Next year’s Golf “Fore” Kids Charity Outing is tentatively scheduled for June 11, 2010 at Governors Run Golf Course in Carlyle.
