Lifelink International Adoption Changes
Lifelink International Adoption has been a program of Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois. After carefully reviewing Lifelink operations, LCFS management decided that it would be more efficient to serve Lifelink clients under LCFS’ license and new Hague accreditation, instead of holding two separate licenses and accreditations. This change became possible in late 2016 when LCFS became fully Hague accredited. With LCFS’ Hague accreditation, all of Lifelink’s direct-placement programs and services now fall under LCFS’ state license and Hague accreditation. Moving forward, the Lifelink name will also no longer be used.
We want to assure you that this change will be as seamless as possible. LCFS is committed to completing all cases in progress. LCFS will also continue to be available as a resource for all current and past Lifelink adoptive families.
Currently, LCFS is not accepting any new direct-placement cases, but we will continue to work with any Illinois families seeking a domestic or international home study. In addition to its full-slate of adoption and birth parent services, LCFS’ Adoption program will now include all adoptions begun under the Lifelink name.
