Mt. Vernon Open House
- August 24, 2018
Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois, one of the largest nonprofit child welfare agencies in Illinois, recently moved to a new office space at 618 South 42nd Street in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. They are hosting a community Open House at their new location on Friday, August 24th from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a brief ribbon cutting ceremony at 12:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and RSVPs are not required. Refreshments will be provided.
“We want to invite the entire Mt. Vernon community to stop by and let our staff share with you the impact LCFS has had on children and families over our past 40 years serving this area. We are excited to have the opportunity to continue to protect children, strengthen families and build futures for those we serve,” shared Mary Rachael Stevens-Evans, LCFS Southern Regional Director.
Out of its Mt. Vernon location, LCFS provides a variety of programs, including foster care, counseling and intact family services. In addition, LCFS also provides services within the area through Southern Thirty Adolescent Center (a 30-day short-term emergency-shelter care facility in Mt. Vernon). Last year, LCFS cared for more than 500 foster children through its Southern Illinois offices.
“As a nonprofit organization, it was important to find a location that helps our staff thrive as they serve our clients, while ensuring that donor resources are used appropriately,” said Mike Bertrand, LCFS’ President and CEO. “We’re confident that we’ve found that balance with our new space and look forward to continuing to serve children and families in the Mt. Vernon and surrounding communities for years to come.”
Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois is a leading provider of a variety of child welfare services. They serve children, individuals, families and communities of all faiths, races, sexual orientations and ethnic backgrounds.
