Showing love for Lutherbrook

  •  February 22, 2016

What to do on a snowy Valentine’s Day afternoon? Hundreds of Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Center supporters, from toddlers to seniors, came to Stardust Bowl in Addison for the 29th annual Lutherbrook Bowl-A-Rama.

An inspirational video featuring former Lutherbrook resident Alex Lyons set the tone, opening an exciting day of bowling, raffle drawings and fun, all to support Lutherbrook youth. The annual event raised thousands of dollars for the work of Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Center. In the video, Alex shared a message of thanks with attendees. “Thank you for continuing to pour into the lives of the kids at LBK. You are making an impact, like you did in my life, you will make an impact in the lives of those to come.” (You can watch Alex’s complete video at

Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Center is a highly-specialized residential treatment center for youth ages 6 – 18. Lutherbrook youth have experienced multiple complex traumas in their young lives, many have had numerous foster care and other placements, and have struggled to be successful in family and community living. Understandably, they have a great deal of difficulty building trusting relationships with adults and peers.

At Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Center, youth begin the process of healing. Its comprehensive and compassionate treatment approach is designed to help each youth resume family and community living as soon as possible. The goal is to develop resilient youth who have the ability to succeed within Lutherbrook’s program and more importantly, in the communities to which they will return. To help reach this goal, Lutherbrook partners with youth, families and communities to build strengths that result in an enduring experience of belonging and well-being.

LCFS appreciates all the generous support from individuals, congregations, businesses and the community that helped make Bowl-A-Rama a success. Special thanks to our presenting sponsor Noland Sales Corporation as well as the strike level sponsors Assurance, Oxford Bank, Presta Construction Co., Inc. and Southland Flooring Supplies.
