Veterans pay price in budget impasse
- February 17, 2016
Like many other organizations, Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois (LCFS), its staff, supporters and clients are deeply affected by Illinois’ current budget-related turmoil. The solution is more revenue. Without additional funds to address the damage done by the current budget impasse, untold damage could result to Illinois and its citizens.
One example of how LCFS is being impacted is in its Veterans Assistance program. This program provides case management in the form of housing for homeless veterans and support services for veterans and their families in Decatur. These services include support and referrals in the areas of transportation, counseling, mental health services, dental work and eye-care services.
Hear from a client of the program regarding how he is impacted by the budget impasse.
